Late '50's, actually. Dodgers were first out in '58 or '59 followed by the Giants. Astros (nee Senators) moved mid-'60's. Seahawks, D-backs & Rockies were all expansion teams in the '70's thru '90's.

I've always loved this view. One of the most artistically composed photos of the entire construction set. And, as it says above, a view of the Terminal not easily or often seen anymore. The graceful lines of the place extend to the business (back) end of the Terminal and aren't just limited to the front.

I recently flew Delta to San Antonio (April of 2012)...If you enter the Delta Departure Concourse and head left from the doors you'll find the same mural shown on the left side of this picture! Its definitely worth taking a close look at the mural because it will lead you to tables and a scale that you can use to make sure you avoid those pesky fees for overweight baggage... I used it as a meeting place for my group as they were dropped off at the airport.

I do know that the 'digital' clocks above the arrival and departure boards (part way back toward the concourse were tied to a common clock, and probably at least to the ones above the magazine stand (now the info booth centered under the dome)...when it was quiet you could hear the mechanisms clunking and thudding in there well into the '80s. I thought I'd heard or read that all these were slaved together, including the giant clock out front to make it easier to adjust everything at once. I've seen photos of a group of master clocks somewhere on the lower levels as well.

Funny thing is the tower A operators were not allowed to look out the Windows, everyone faced the board opposite the amazing view.

I love the compound curves (roundhouse roof line, steam pipes, etc), all overlaying in their accidental swoopieness.

Placards, methinks, along with door seals. Regardless, the placards speak more to their own condition now than the freight contents they were intended for.

Ready, Set - Go! The engineer got the red signal first ('Hey, wake up! We're about to do something here!) when all the passengers cleared the gate in the concourse. The amber lit-up up next (red stayed on) when everyone was aboard the train. When the tracks were all aligned for departure, the Tower gave control back to the gate attendant in the concourse. If he didn't see anyone running for the gate, he'd push a button when departure time arrived. Red and amber would go out, green would light and we'd be off! Reset and repeat as necessary, then go home and have a drink.

This is hanging above the steps into Tower A at Cincinnati Union Terminal. I've been looking at it for years and it's clearly from the KC division, but I don't know which station. Latonia, perhaps? Could also be Falmouth, Cynthiana or Paris, KY. What other stops did the L&N have between Cincinnati and Corbin on that line?
